Question: How Can I Make Sure My Voice Will Be Ok For Musical!?
So!. I will be Mayzie in Seussical at my school, which is coming up the first week of June!. I do need to give it my all even during rehearsals, so I try!. However, my voice has been faltering!. Just a little bit, on these 2 very hard-to-belt notes, so its not a big deal, but I would hate to mess up during the performance!. So my question is, what can I do to heal my voice prior to the show, and on the days in between each show!? (There is a show on 3 consecutive days)!. Any remedy is helpful!. If there's anything I can eat, (honey, I've heard is good), please! Any recommendation is helpful!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

If you're having vocal trouble, take the song to a vocal teacher (even just for a one-off lesson) and get them to help you through it with technique!. Belting badly can damage your voice permanently!. In terms of healing your voice, don't speak at all if possible; drink plenty of water and eat well!. Hot lemon and honey will soothe a scratchy throat!. If you're really struggling, there's some stuff called Throat Coat Tea which will help your voice, but it's a very temporary solution and NOT a cure - it'll bring your voice back but it masks the symptoms, so it very much is a one-off solution as if you use it constantly and continue to sing, you could do some serious damage!. It also tastes revolting!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Drink warm liquids!. Sleep with a humidifier!. Avoid fried foods and soda!. Don't go to anything that might make you scream for long periods of time!. (Ride on a roller coaster, go to a concert, etc!.)Www@QuestionHome@Com

drink water with lemon and wear a scarf!. Don't scream!. Make sure you are 'belting' properly and not causing permanent damage to your vocal chords!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
