I don't even want to be famous or anything, I just want to do it as much as I can for the love of it!. But I worry that if I dont make it i'll end up a waitress and that's as far away as anything from acting!.!.So I don't know!. She I shelf the dream and pick up a more "respectable" career and be unhappy or go for it and risk being unhappy anyways!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

No!.

That's it!. A lot of people think that people who want to act want to be famous!. That's not always the case!. Anyone that wants too, and is good, can act!. There are companies EVERYONE, not just New York and Chicago, and if you work hard enough, you can get a job acting!.

Never, EVER let anyone tell you that it's an unrealistic goal!. Don't ever cry when someone asks you what you want to do!. Be proud!. Because you have picked something that is interesting and exciting!!! Everyone secretly dreams of a career like theatre!. One that's fun and different and exhilerating!. Think of all the wonderful stories you will have of your time on the stage when you're old!. :)

If you want to act (even if it's regional theater) and not "be famous" then it's not unrealistic!. Though I will say it's best to have some backup skills because it's fun to live in a tiny flat and live from role to role when you're young, but when you get older (thirties, marriage, kids) you'll want stability!. Just go into it because you love acting, not because you love money and fame!. also get training and allow people to teach you!Www@QuestionHome@Com

NO, if you have the drive, ambition and sheer will power!.

Try, by telling people you are an actress - be your fantasy!. Act the part!.

You couldn't be an actress if you always try to be mediocre hiding behind your "respectable" job title or the security of your "respectable" career!.

Just GO for it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Follow your heart if you don't you will be full of regret!. If you passion is as deep as you say and don't really even want to be a famous actress start small most towns have small theatre productions so that you can get a good start while you work on getting headshots and a portfolio together!. Good luck!!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Then you should follow your dream, but always with a backup plan!.!.!. after all many people have that same dream!.
I personally feel silly yelling, crying, etc!.!.!.!. without a motive to back up that emotion!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I would follow your dream!. I feel the same why about acting and would love to become an actress!. But I'd say get a job and try acting on the side until hopefully one day it can become your full time job!. Good luck!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Go for it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It is not unrealistic if you are talented and are willing to work really really hard mastering your craft!.

You cannot just wing it and show up in Hollywood or New York!. You need to study and you need to go to college!.

You need to understand that you may have to do something else to make a living while you are going to school, attending workshops, and going to audition after audition after audition!.

If you have a good education (at least a bachelors) then you can decide later whether or not this is working for you and if you need to head in a different direction!.

Keep working at your craft, if you have the talent you will get there with hard work and a few good breaks!.

I know how you feel
I feel the same way
I say go for it but HAVE A BACK-UP PLAN
because sadly, a lot of people go through acting to become famous and your chances are really slim (even if you're amazing)

This way, if acting doesn't work out you have something to fall back on

maybe find something that still circulates around acting
like screenwriting (writer for TV Shows/ Movies) or directing
so you can still be involved in what you love

Good luck to you, I hope your dreams come true!Www@QuestionHome@Com
