Hi, I'm about to turn 26 in December and I'm moving to NYC pretty soon!. I have a pretty good life, but every once in while I wake up with feelings of "what if!.!.!." Acting has always been my passion, and I cld kick myself for waiting so long to start!.I don't want to live my life with any regrets!.However, even though I know this, the prospect of uprooting my life, my career to pursue this uncertain dream scares me a lot!.
Showbiz can be cruel, esp for minority actressess (which I am)!. I've also noticed that if you haven't already made it in your 20s, one's marketability goes down pretty fast once you pass 30!. also there is the issue that you do not fit the "ideal" (as mentioned I'm a minority and it's quite clear Hollywood has very little interest in giving serious roles to non-white minority actresses)!.
This has been my risk assessment, but I can be convinced it might be a little pessimistic!. Just to get a fresh perspective, what do you guys think!?
