Question: The story of jerry and the dog - the zoo story!?
i understand that jerrys past attemped at reaching the dog is parallell to his present attempt to each peter

but i thought his attempt to kill the dog was trying to tell us about an attempted suicide rather than him trying to teach peter about the sufferings of mankind especially sufferings which people are ignorant to!.!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

You do not ask a question!. Jerry explains very well what the story means at the end of it!. The whole point of the theatre of the absurd is that relationships are impossible because communication is impossilbe!. I also see the story as a parallel to the relationship between races in our country!. The dog is an obvious symbol of how whites view blacks!. The story is similar to race relations history!. I directed this play with a black Jerry and white Peter and it was very effective!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
