Contact your local community recreation center and see if they have any singing, dancing or acting classes!. Many do!. also, look for local theater groups in your area and volunteer to help out!. They most likely won't have any roles for a 14-year-old, but if you show interest in painting scenery, helping with tickets, etc!., they may help you learn the craft!. Plus, over time, they may cast you in smaller roles to help you learn about stage work!. A local group that I know does this with a group of homeschoolers - they also offer acting classes during the day specifically for this group!.

Being homeschooled actually gives you an advantage: if a theater group meets during the day, you can help out!.

In the meantime, begin to read plays!. Start with "The Glass Menagerie" by Tennessee Williams!. It's not that hard!. Then read "Diary of Anne Frank"!. Read plays outloud, getting a grasp on the tone of the characters!.

If you're serious about this, don't give up!. Do whatever it takes to learn the craft!. Volunteer to help out for any production you see - no role or task is too small for any real performer!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

1!. Training!. Acting/Dancing/Singing classes are a good start!. You start to get some talent under your belt, and grow your confidence!. Plus, if after about a year of classes if you realize you really don't like it, it'll be easier for you to back out!.

2!. Experience!. Do Community Theater, act in your school play, get in some student films, etc!. You'll want to do as many productions as possible to have a great resume!.

3!. Agent!. http://www!.soyouwanna!.com/site/syws/tale!.!.!.

As you can see, you're going to need to spend at least two years (At the VERY least!. Usually you'll need three to four!.) building yourself up!. You'll want to make sure this is what you really want to do before you start getting into this!.

also, you should NEVER have to pay for anything when it comes to getting an agent!. If an agent tells you to take special classes from them or a website asks for a credit card number, that is a red flag that it is a scam!. Some of the big scammers out there are: John Robert Powers, Millie Lewis, John Casablancas, Proscout, Model Look, Barbizon!.

Hope this helps and I wish you a fantastic career!. =)

ETA: Chances are, your umbrella school has programs that might meet your interests!. Contact them or ask at the next meeting!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
