Im 19 years old and i have NEVER has any acting experience in my life, i think i done like 3 lessons of drama in school and all we did was laugh, i didnt take it seriously, but now i wish i had taken it more seriously!.
So, my question is how can i start acting, i've had no experience and i heard acting school is too much money especially for someone my age and if your parents dont have enough money to pay for you!. You need to take acting classes and acting workshops, they help you to develop techniques to help you in the industry!. What Steph said was totally wrong, you don't have to take classes for two years before you can go to an audition!. Just take as many classes as you need, until you get the "gist" of it (no set date, for everyone it's different)!. then start doing stuff in your community like student films, community theater, open mic night, anything just to get your face out there!. Once you get enough credits, get an agent, as you probably know (or not) agents don't cost money, they make a commission off of what you make!. Keep taking classes throughout this process, they help you keep you sharp in your craft!. ~~~My personal opinion- acting schools aren't that worth it, unless you have money to burn!. they are just as good as classes, or a decent acting coach! Plus, if after about a year of classes if you realize you really don't like it, it'll be easier for you to back out!. 2!. Experience!. Do Community Theater, act in your school play, get in some student films, etc!. You'll want to do as many productions as possible to have a great resume!. 3!. You'll want to make sure this is what you really want to do before you start getting into this!. also, you should NEVER have to pay for anything when it comes to getting an agent!. If an agent tells you to take special classes from them or a website asks for a credit card number, that is a red flag that it is a scam!. Or you can watch famous actors like johnny depp and charlie chaplin and take notes then you could enter a contest!. Practice in the mirror!. The three main topics are mime, object, and subject, also there is pantomime!. Practice facial expression and tone of voice!. NEVER give your back to the audience!.
