Ok!. This depends on if you wish to teach or perform!. If you wish to perform, a BA is enough to get you into an MFA Acting program along with your audition!. The other option for a BA student is teaching!. Performers don't have steady salaries, teachers do!. A masters in the fine arts is always recommended, but the best possible combination for teaching or performing is a BFA continued on to a MFA!. MFA in Acting is the equivalent of a Ph!.D!. in most fields, except it is closer to the theatrical equivalent of a medical or legal degree since it is an advanced professional degree!. There are some 2 year conservatories out there but all casting directors prefer a 4 year minimum, and with the competition out there, you can understand why!. When casting directors are overloaded with possibles, they will tend to sort out only the ones that fit the role with graduate training!. As far as graduate drama programs, look to NYU, Yale, CalArts, UCLA, Columbia University(their MFA program is connected with the Actors Studio), and Rutger's University for some of the best and most respected graduate programs in Acting in the nation!. I am personally just starting with my BFA but plan to follow it with an MFA as I build my career!. also, take some courses in business management, entrepreneurship, business finances, and marketing if you go the performance route!. These will help you on the business end of things!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
