Question: Suppose you're sitting in a movie theater, and your seat number is F15!. F is your row number!. 15 is your!?!?!?
Neither "column" nor "line" sounds right, and "aisle" can't be right, either: the term "aisle" refers to the space between the seats!. Since some movie theaters fan out from the screen, I'm tempted to say "radius," but it just sounds too odd!. Maybe "column" would be all right in an auditorium or a concert hall, but I'm not sure!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

!.!.!.if F is your row, 15 is your seat number!.

Every theatre or cinema has its own numbering conventions, but generally, if you are seated in the middle section, seat 15 will be between 14 & 16 (seats are generally staggered a bit, so you are looking between the people in front of you, instead of directly at the back of someone's head)!.

In some auditoriums, the left and right sections of seats are either even or odd numbers (one side will be numbered 2, 4, 6 while the other side will be 1, 3, 5)!. No matter which section you're in, you look for the row you're in, then go seat by seat until you find your seat number!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The distance in 'chairs' counted from the left of the ouditorium!.
