Question: Sore, scratchy throat!. I need ways to cure it by my performance tonight!!?
I am in a three-day run of THE MIKADO for my high school!. I play Ko-Ko, the Lord High Executioner!. It is a comic role, so I really don't have to have that great of a singing voice!. However, my voice is pretty good, and I need to project A LOT so that people can understand my words!. Last night was opening night, and I was told I did incredibly well, and during my curtain call I received a standing ovation!. However, my "superb" performance appears to have given me an incredibly sore throat!. I need to be able to perform with the same intensity tonight and I want people to enjoy it as much as they did last night!. Can anyone help me by telling about any quick, easy, and fast-working remedies for a sore and scratchy throat!? Thank you so much in advance!Www@QuestionHome@Com

When I was in the military, doing my basic training, when we did drill (marching) we had to shout out the counts (loudly) and by the end of 8 hours of doing this, our throats were raw unlike you would ever believe!.

What we ended up doing!? Sucking on a whole lemon!. Cut it in quarters, and suck all the juice you can out of it!. After we did that, had a tablespoon of honey, went to bed, and by morning, we were able to shout out drill again (for another frigging 8 hours)

This is assuming your voice is from it being "overworked" and not other causes (illness)Www@QuestionHome@Com

-Have Halls cough drops for back stage (only for emergencys)
-Drink lots of camomile tea with lemon and honey
-Gargle warm salt water
-Don't speak if you don't have to
-Don't belt if you can avoid it (i was once in a show where i lip sung the chorus numbers and saved my voice for my solos because i had lost my voice!.!.!. nobody knew that I was lip singing)
-Use throat coat tea (but not a lot because then you will overwork your already overworked vocal chords and permanently damage them, just tonight should be fine, though)Www@QuestionHome@Com
