Question: How to get your play performed in NYC!?

I finished a play!.!.!. an absurd comedy!. Personally, I think it's hilarious!.

get a copy of "the dramatists sourcebook" & check theatres that are looking for the kind of play you wrote!. you can also goodle "play" & "contest" for contest opportunities!. go to http://www!.stageplays-forum!.com/ for some help from other playwrites!.

it's extremely hard to get a play done in nyc!. your best bet is to first get a production locally so you can make any changes once you see the first staging!. try schools, colleges, community theatre groups!. once you have some experience, win some competitions, etc!., you have a better chance of breaking into the nyc market!. the nice thing about playwrighting is that you don't need any agent to approach theater companies so concentrate on getting someone to do your play as opposed to getting an agent!. don't worry, when it comes to the point that you need an agent, they will be contacting you!Www@QuestionHome@Com

I hate to crush your dreams, but your play isn't going to new york, but keep writing and one day you will, take some playwrighting classes, and go from there!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
