Question: Any advice for an aspiring actress!?
I really want to be an actress but I live in a city in the middle of Canada, where there's NO ACTORS! I REALLY want this!. help!! [plus, I have talent!]Www@QuestionHome@Com

What kind of Acting do you want to do!?
Start with that!.

If you want to be onstage, then you should look into theatre programs, and training programs that will not only help you develop a craft, but give you the resume, and connections to slowly build your way up!. Eventually you can look into auditioning for Equity theatre's, but you may have to look in a big city!.

If you want to do film, my advice is start looking for independant film auditions, and film student projects and build a film resume!. Don't worry about getting a "reel" of your best work till you've done enough to were you're confident it will look really good!. You'll also have to look into big cities for this !.!.!.

But! The biggest hurdle with being an actor !.!.!. is doing it!.

Go out, and work for it, and work hard!. Search, plan, train, read!.!.!. just like going to school, or playing a sport!.!.!. You have to work EVERYDAY, you can't take a week off just because you don't feel like it!.!.!. Do something small every day so you stay coinfident and eventually things will start to break for you (if you belive in karma!.!.!.eventually, it will all come back to you)!.

No worries, Canada has a good indie film scene, and lots of theatres ( I've been debating going there myself!.!.!.)

Good Luck!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I hear you, fellow Canadian: there seem to be very few oppuritunities in Canada!.
If you are in High School, try enrolling in a specialty theatre program!. As well, start hanging around and volunteering at your community theatres to get to know the directors!. That way when you audition for a show you will know the directors well!.
Take classes that could help you with your acting career and would look good on a resumé: singing, acting, dancing, fencing, horseback riding!.!.!. lessons, camps, workshops and classes all count!.
Look into post-secondary training as well: I know that there is a Canadian Performing Arts College!. Besides that, University of Victoria (U of Vic) has an excellent performing arts department!.
Hope this helps, and good luck!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Start from the beginning!. There have to be some acting classes you can take where you live!. You need to get someone to tell you that you have talent who is qualified to tell you that, like your acting teacher for example!. also, start trying to learn what it really means to be an actor!. Do some homework, some research and learn about the industry!. Have a look at this page on my site for new and aspiring actors!. It has a lot of links to different pages that have to do with different aspects of starting out in acting!. http://www!.actingcareerstartup!.com/teen_!.!.!.

Good luck!
