Nerves are a great thing! I never feel comfortable on stage unless I'm nervous before a show!. Frank Sinatra once said: "It's good to be nervous!. People like it when you're nervous!. It shows you care!. If you don't care, why should they!?" Once you're on stage, the nerves seem to melt away!. If you're on a fully lit stage, you cannot even see beyond the first two rows of the audience anyway!. For monologues, focus on one person at a time and believe, TRULY believe, that you are only speaking to that one person!. When you get to a change of direction in the monologue, change to another person and speak only to them!. Speaking to one person is a lot better than speaking to three hundred!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Take deep breaths to calm yourself down!. And when reciting the play look over people heads not directly at them because it tends to make you more nervous!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
