Question: I really love acting!.!.!.!.but!.!.!.!?
Do you have to be famous to be a real actor or is an actor simpy someone who does drama & acting, but doesn't work for movies & stuff!?
I'm asking because I did a year of acting at College before dropping out at the end of the year!. However, a while later, I temporarily joined a drama club outside of the College & I'm really considering returning to it!. I used to be really desperate to become famous through acting, but I eventually came to realise that I love acting more than the thought of becoming famous, although it would be an added bonus!. I've had a passion for acting & drama ever since my childhood!
So!.!.!.!.!.can I still be an actor without being famous or is a true actor someone who's in movies & stuff!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

What a great question!. I hope many read it and this answer!. Pink Potatoes doesn't quite have it!. Just believing you are an actor doesn't make you one!. What an absurd idea!. Of course you do not have to be famous and in films or on Broadway to be an actor!. All you need to do is act!. One of the most ignorant things that appears on this forum is the kids who say "I am an actor!." and they have done no acting and have no idea how to do any acting!. A non-professional actor is just as much an actor as a movie star!. I have a friend, an old college roommate, who can be considered an actor since he is constantly performing in various community theatres in his area!. That is what he does!. He acts!. He is an actor!. To say your are an actor means that you are in a production or temporarily between productions, but with plans to audition soon!. That is being an actor!. Ok I am a proffesional actor so trust me on this, an actor is someone who believes they are an actor, people are gonna say at some point "You are not an actor! You havent been on TV' but those are the people that will end up being McDonalds people and not actors!. If you have the integrity, you are an actor!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
