Question: Should I choose an Asian stage name!?
I'm trying to break into acting, but my last name is horribly difficult to spell and pronounce!. In the years I've been here, not a single person in this country has ever been able to pronounce my last name correctly without my help!. Even the librarian at the conservatory told me I need to change my name!. (I have other reasons why I want to use a stage name too, like privacy, for one)!.

Thing is, I'm Asian (not Chinese, though)!. Most of the Asian names from my own country are equally difficult to pronounce (they're based on Sanskrit)!.

Should I choose the simpler, more American name, or should I choose a name that reflects my ethnicity!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

I'd go with an asian name!. If you're trying to find one from your background perhaps you should shorten it somehow!. I'm not really sure of the types of names you're talking about!. Plenty of people have a stage name/pen name!.!.!. even people with names that are easy to pronounce!. Good luck!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
