You are young, so you should without a doubt follow this dream!. As long as you give it a fair shot, you can always do something different later on if you change your mind!. But for now you are only 18 and you sound passionate!. I am an actress in my mid-twenties and my parents STILL aren't crazy about the idea, I started when I was around your age!. It is hard to do but you have to follow your own dreams!. My parents still want me to follow a different kind of career and it's hard to listen to, but you learn to deal with it!. I encourage you to try to listen to your heart! Hope that your family begins to understand even just a little bit!.

You are smart to know that you need training first, and New York City is the place to do it!. Are you interested in stage or television/film!? And were you planning on going to New York or another place!? TVI studios in NYC is pretty good, it is definitely not a scam, so if you want to do that intensive you should!. But there are some acting programs that may be less expensive and you don't necessarily need a great resume!. In New York, look at HB studios; Lee Strasberg Institute; Stella Adler!. For specifically film/television training look at School for Film and Television and New York Film Academy!. Be sure to research a lot because some of these may offer scholarships if you don't have a lot of money and are coming from out of the country!. I would go to any of these places before TVI!. TVI can be a little pricey and it always feels very factory-like!. I would also recommend, since you have so little experience, to stay away from intensives!. It will serve you better to go to a longer program over a longer period of time, because you are going to need more than two months of training, and time to let it all sink in!. If you must go back to Murcia right away then obviously consider the intensive, but if not then you should stay in New York longer and see how things go!.

I know an actress from Columbia who moved to New York, got scholarship to attend School for Film and TV, and then transferred to a real college program and got a degree in acting!. She is doing great now!.

Training is very very important in the world of acting and the best training to get is college training!. It connects you to jobs and opportunities!. One small step at a time though!. Best of luck!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It doesn't matter where you go if you don't have experience!. Already lack of experience has kept you from getting into acting schools!. It's unfortunate that Murcia has a small acting community, but you could always try and make one!. Starting a theatre group is a good way to get something to write on a resume!.

If it's really what you want, then yes I would say that it's worth it (If it isn't a scam - I'm not sure what's a scam and what isn't) But in order to get your parents support you need to show them you know what you're doing!. If they know you know what the chances are you'll actually make it as an actress, and how hard it's going to be, then they'll be more willing to take you seriously, and you're halfway there!. Having your parents support can be a blessing (both financially and emotionally) and it's definitely a must if you're going to continue your career!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
