Because I can't imagine having another profession for the rest of my life!. Start by taking acting classes!. A reputable acting school/coach will guide you to legit auditions!. You can audition for theater, but if you're interested in film call the theater dept!. in colleges (they usually keep a database of actors) and also audition for film college students (they're always in need of actors)!. This is good practice for any actor!.

I don't think you must go to college to become an actor!. If you have real good talent, then you have an advantage but you still need acting classes to learn and polish your skills and feel comfortable acting in front of a crowd of people or in front of a camera!. I think that a college with a good theater dept!. simply creates a great atmosphere to polish your skills and learn more about the business!. Keep in mind that no great college can manufacture REAL talent!.

I've been acting for almost eight years now!. Not professionally, but because of my love of theater!. My advice is to take some classes and audition for community theater first before deciding if acting is what you want to do!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
