Question: Can a up-coming American actresses (in need of a agent) be represented by a British agent!?

I am a actress in need of an agent!.!.!.I've been searching for one and found one in England that I'm interested in!.!.!.
the only thing is that I live in NJ!.!.!.could I still be represented by a United Kingdom Agent!?
