Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
Christopher Marlowe was a playwright - a contemporary of Shakespeare!. Some considered him to be the better writer!. He was stabbed to death (in the eye) during a tavern brawl!. However, some conspiracy theorists suggest he was not killed, but faked his death in order to become a spy of the Crown in Europe!. Others argue that the works of Shakespeare were actually written by Marlowe!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I think of the famous playwright that was born in the same year as Shakespeare!. He was much more successful than Shakespeare at an early age and died tragically young!.
His most important works are "The Jew of Malta", The Massacre of Paris", and "Dr!. Faustus"!.

The details of his life have been the subject of almost as much speculation as Shakespeare's life!. Was he gay!? Was he an atheist!? Was he a spy!? Was he assassinated, murdered, or a chance victim in a drunken fight!? Did he really die or was it a cover up!? Was he really the author of Shakespeare's plays, and was the man we know as Shakespeare just a front!?

Why do you ask a question like this!? It would probably be easier and faster to google his name and read his biography than to trust some random person to summarize his biography for you!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
