Question: Project the voice!?

I'm trying out for west side story and need some singing tips!. I've done musicals in the past and my voice is getting more powerful but sometime I go a bit sharp!. It might be nerves but I'm not sure!.Please helpWww@QuestionHome@Com

go to vocal lessons or try ranging your pitches!E!.G go low and get higher and higher!!!
also try loundness tests!.This means how loud u can sing on the right note!!
give it a try!.

So people will tell you to get on top of the pitch but this is not the case and will not help you!. If you imagine a piano the keys don't go on top of each other they go sideways!. So try thinking of going beside the note!. It sounds stupid but It absolutely works! And try SPEAKING the lyrics to the song!. Then sing the song JUST like you spoke it!. I hope this helps!
