Question: The Real Seussical!?
I found out Seussical is coming to a city near me, and was excited to see that they had classified it as a "Kids" show and placed it in their matinee kids series, which makes tickets only $5!. Then, when looking through their brochure, I noticed it said adapted from the Broadway version!. So I went to look for the real tour, but didn't find anything, although I did find on wikipedia that Seussical didn't do so good on Broadway, so they turned it into a kids show!. So my main questions are: Is there still a real version touring!? Is this "Kid Adaption" considered the real thing, so if I see it I can say "I saw Seussical!."!? Any information on this would be really helpful!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Yeah Seussical, did not do well on Broadway at all!. The original book was problematic and was the source of a lot of the bad reviews!. As a result the show closed quickly and I think there was a very short tour, which closed quickly also!.
So when the composers wanted to release it to be done by regional theaters they re-worked and cut the script and some of the score, and released this "new" version for theaters to perform regionally!. Then they released a "Jr" version for schools and children's theaters!.
The original version on Seussical seen on Broadway is not available for theaters to perform only this "revamped" version!.
At this time there no professional tour!.
However, there are many productions though nationwide at regional and community theaters as it a very popular show for those venues!.
If you see the kids version, it is the same story with most of the same music!. Think some of score is a little changed to make it easier for kids to sing, but basically it is the same show!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
