Could it happen!? Sure, but!.!.!. Just make sure you are careful in anything you do of this type!.

At any rate, yes one on one acting lessons can be good, but especially if you are at the beginning of your acting endeavors, there is a lot to be said for taking classes with a group of other people!. You can learn so much from just watching people prepare, do their scenes and act!. You can also learn a lot from the notes that the teacher gives other actors while you are watching!. I even wrote a page about 23 benefits of taking acting classes on my website for new and aspiring actors because the benefits as I say are many!.

If you are just starting out, I would say take classes!.

Private classes are an excellent enhancement to group lessons!. I had an acting coach for a while back in high school--he was wonderful, very professional (he happens to be well-known in the area) and I learned a lot from him!. The experience was invaluable for my college auditions!.

As with any private lessons or tutor, look for a teacher who is reputable and check their references & credentials!. If you know acting teachers, or even someone who has taken private acting classes, ask them for recommendations!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I'm honestly not a fan!. A huge part of acting is connecting not only to the material, but also to your scene partner!. A teacher is there to help guide and direct you, which they can't do if they're acting with you!. Plus, the group dynamic of a class can be great and you can learn a lot watching your teacher work with your classmates (like a Master class)!.
One on one work can be good for monologues though!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It could be a good adjunct to group classes!. However, unless you are aiming for a career as a monologist (a la Spaulding Grey, etc!.), you need to learn how to perform with other people!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
