For women, you generally have to be 5' 8'' to be a runway model, or wear heels to make you that height!. For print models, all body sizes/shapes/colors are needed for modeling!. To be a model, here's the basics:

1!. Head Shot and Body Shot - When just starting out, you can take these with your digital camera!. (But keep in mind, they need to look as professional as possible!.) As you get more into the business you'll have to get them done professionally - But you'll be with an agency by then and they will pay for it!.

2!. Look for an agent - Go to google, type "modeling agencies in (city, state)" and a list of them will come up!. You should NEVER have to pay for anything when it comes to getting an agent!. If an agent tells you to take classes from them or a website asks for a credit card number, that is a red flag that it is a scam!. Some of the big scammers out there are: John Robert Powers, Proscout, Millie Lewis, John Casablancas, Model Look, Barbizon!.

3!. Realize that this is a tough business - You're not going to get every job!. Some people are going to be rude, downright mean!. You've got to have thick skin, or you're gonna get bruised quickly!.

Hope this helps you and I hope your daughter goes on to have a fantastic career!. =)Www@QuestionHome@Com

Before you start, I suggest you make sure your daughter has confidence and poise (essential for modelling) She'll need that little bit extra to get good jobs (Models aren't picked just for their pretty faces) Make sure you go to a well known and recommended modelling agency for her age (where she won't be modelling for anything inappropriate)!. Check the agency's reputation before going straight in and never get yourself involved in a pay-now-model-later deal!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

try and sign her up in summer modeling workshops, it's like summer camp, only they teach the kids how to be good models!. It's a fun environment for children too, nothing too explicit or harmful!. :) you can find it online, try and search for one in http://hollywood-opportunities!.comWww@QuestionHome@Com

Do not bring her to an agency that asks for money upfront!. My friends supposedly were promised to be models if they payed $3000!. You get nothing out of those deals except some studio pictures that pretty much end up no where!.

I'd suggest find a legit talent scout!.

And check out this site, it gives the best advice!.

12 is very young for an impressionable child!. Tell her it is better to wait until she is at 16 years old, to try modeling!.
It's not an easy career and there are too many people that can take advantage of a 12 year old!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
