Unfortunately you really needed to negotiate your wages before you did the work!. Yes, 12 an hour is is extremely low but you need to take a few things into consideration!. Is this is a network show or small potatoes!?

The best way to decline is to tell them while you have enjoyed working with them your schedule is too full at the moment to take on any more extra work!.

And don't forget if you do this again make your you get what you are being paid in writing first!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I think Joy hit the nail on the head!.

I'm a consultant and I'm currently shooting a video for which I'm being paid one fourth to one fifth of what I am usually paid!. But I'm doing it because I need the footage for my self-promotion, so it's worth it!. The fact is, that unless you are a big name personality, the television industry doesn't pay well!. You always have to negotiate beforehand and then you know what to expect or you can decline right away!. Unless you have a reason for doing it at a low price, then leave it alone!.

Tell them your schedule is full!. You could also ask them if they might be able to make it more worth your while, but if you don't have the negotiation skills to start a conversation like that, then I would say, just leave it alone!.

Yikes!. That's why you get that stuff straightened out BEFORE you do the work!

Find out what scale is for the hour that you did the stand-in role!. I don't know what it is right now (I think it depends on budget, too)!. also, call the HR department and tell them that there was a misunderstanding and "my rate is not $12 an hour, it is $xx an hour!." And then kindly ask if they would like to cut an entire new check or simply send you a check for the additional wages!.

Good luck!. That's messed up!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Just say no!. If they ask why , tell them the truth!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
