Question: How to increase clumsiness for a role in a drama production!?
Normally you would try to be less clumsy, but for the lead role I earned in a play, the character is very clumsy!. I'm a graceful person, so it's kind of hard for me to open up and be clumsy!. Does anyone have any tips for me!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Surely the clumbsiness is written into the script!. All you have to do is adopt the physical traits, posture, gesture and facial expressions of the clutz!. Relax and let the script work for you!. Sounds like a fun role, have a blast!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I'm a pretty clumsy person, and what seems to happen is that I think about the worst possible thing that I can do right before it happens!. For example, the other day, I was walking across the room, and I saw a book on the floor and the thought of someone tripping over it popped in my head!. Next thing I knew, I, of course, tripped over the book!. I don't know if this would work for you, since the way I think could be different from the way you think!. Try it, it sure works for me (not that that's a good thing), but it could help you for your play!Www@QuestionHome@Com

The script should have some insight as to what the character does that makes them clumsy!. Do things like wearing high heels, walking oddly, tripping over random falling objects on the ground etc!. Soon the audience will whisper!. "Oh wow! What a clutz!" :) and that's what you want to hear!Www@QuestionHome@Com
