In general, you're looking at tap and jazz as the most common dance forms (some shows, like The Lion King, wil use modern as well)!. However, if you're just starting out, I would recommend tap and ballet, since ballet will give you technique that can be used in all other dance forms!. Then you can add on jazz or modern!.

To be a MT dancer!.!.!.if you're talking Broadway, these people are professional dancers, not actors/singers who dance!. Many of them have trained all their lives and in some cases have performed with professional ballet or modern companies before going to Broadway!. These folks consider themselves dancers who sing and are in the dance ensemble, not lead roles!.

So, figure out which category you fit into!. If you want to be a dancer, you need to train as a dancer!. HARD!. If your strong point is singing or acting and you want to add dancing as a supplement, still get into some classes but you don't necessarily have to be at such a proficient level!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
