There are basically three ways to memorize lines!.
(1) Stand in front of a mirror and read your lines!. Do this every day reading less and memorizing more!. As you see your body movements it will help you put together words with movement!.
(2) Have someone direct you by reading the line(s) of the other character(s)
(3) Sing it, hop scotch it, rap it!. Whatever you have to do to make it silly!. The more silly the better!. Great way to break the tension and one of the best memory systems out there!. Good luck!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

A few ideas:
1) Break your lines up into units of "thoughts" or meaning!. Try to understand what you are saying and why!. Try to notice the connections between these thoughts- what makes one thought lead to another!?
2) Paraphrase your lines, so you make sure you understand exactly what you are saying and feeling!. If you can't paraphrase, you probably don't understand it!. If you don't understand what you are saying, memorizing is a lot harder!.
3) Choose important thoughts or words as "markers" or signposts along the way!.
4) Order the piece and give a "title" to each section!.
5) Start memorizing from the end of the piece! You will know where you are going, where you have to end up!. Begin with the last beat, then add the previous beat, do them both together, then work on the previous beat, then put all 3 together, etc!.!.
5) Say your lines and write them down at the same time!. Engage as many senses as you can while learning the lines!. Walk your lines, changing direction or pace when you come to a beat change or different direction!.
6) If it's a monologue, record the lines and listen and speak simultaneously; if it's a scene, record the cues, leave a space, then record your line!. When you listen, try to say your
line in the empty space!. Good luck!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Heyyy, well to help you out a little!. When I get a lot of lines, I always make a short little song in the order of my lines!. Sometimes use a little tune such as Three Blind Mice or Twinkle Twinkle Little Star!. The words wont fit right, but use it to your advantage!. I hope this helped!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
