Question: "The Alchemy of Flesh"!?

Went to see this play but did not really understand the end!. Can anyone explain it to me!? I lost the plot after the guy got shot!.

I don't think you can understand the play in a literal way at the end - it's more like a dream or a nightmare!.

Daryll has been shot and is dying in the last scene!. Louis Capello (the other half of Daryll's split personality) is knocking on the door trying to get in!.

It is as if now that that guy is dying the two halves of his personality are engaged in a final struggle - until they come together at the end!.

The final image of Melinda with blood coming from her eye (for me) is what Darryl is thinking as he slips into unconsciousness (the window is directly above his head) Melinda is dead too!.

Both characters kill themsleves and / or their other halves several times in the play!. The play is about split personalities!. The most extreme thing you can do to your alter ego is to destroy it - which is a suicidal act!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
