Question: NYU Drama Major!?
I rather act in tv/film than theater!. I have done theater in the past, and tv/film is what I what to focus in!. Will the Drama major focus on tv/film!? I would like to get a masters in Acting, at NYU!. Is there a better school!? I would like to double major in journalism!. I would like to go to Columbia for graduate!. This would be in a couple years!. I need a school that is for acting and journalism!. Journalism is more of a back up plan, but still a passion! UCLA is an option, but it has no journalism program!. Is it worth it to double major in communications & acting!? Should I just go to an graduate journalism program after college, like Columbia!? Is UCLA's acting department focus on tv/film!. I have done theater alot in the pass, but what to focus on tv/film!. Which school is the best for me!? I have also been thinking about SUNNY Purchase, Northwestern, UNC- Chapel Hill, and Cornell, too! USC has some quality's, but I rather not be in that area!. What do you think!? Any feedback is fine!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
NYU is a good school definately!. You can study film and audition for movies that are being film in New York!. Check out more schools in southern California since so many movies are being shot there!. Take a look at UNLV also!. I'm currently in their acting program and I enjoy it, and I'm pretty sure they have a communications department too!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I do not agree with your answer who thinks NYU is a great idea!. A drama major is wrong for a film actor!. MOst BFA acting programs, like Purchase for example are wrong for flim actors!. YOu would be better off with the two year acting program at AMDA!. But the best thing for you would be no academy or college training, just build your resume with acting and take some carefully selected classes at various studios!. Many of the BFA acting programs will not allow you to have a second major or participate in any other activities, that is how strict and strenuous they are!. If you get a journalism degree you will never be an actor!. Actors have to be so devoted to acting that they just don't have a parachute!. If you have one, you will use it because it will provide you with all the things you have to give up to be an actor!. I mentor aspiring actors for free!. I am a retired actor and retired university theatre professor and program director!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
