I have been debating whether i can belt or not for a looong time!.!.!. i have been classically trained for almost 11 years but love musical theatre!. Anyway, am i belting at all in this song!? What do i do if i am not belting!? I want to learn!.!.!.!. lol Oh and please dont judge me, im just screwing around in my acting class!.!.!. im not trying to impress anyone!.!.!. No, I'm sorry to say that you aren't belting, and I personally think that's okay!. For the character you were playing, I believe it is better to be played as a non-belter!. I, myself am a natural belter and I have a harder time with the classical stuff but if you are not able to be trained in belting, maybe it is better to only go for roles that are better suited to your voice!. If you do want to belt, try getting another vocal coach with belting training!. It'll probably take a long time, belting is very difficult to do but you definately have the breath support for it and it seems like you want it enough!. It also wouldn't hurt with you being versitale!. You're a better actress than I am and you sing beautifully!. Try thinking it over and make sure you make the right descision!. also be sure that you don't try to teach yourself to belt, you might get vocal nodes!.
