Question: Soprano audition song for Les Mis!?
i need a song to sing, im soprano with a pretty good range!.!.

i want to sing a song that fits the character Cosette (if you dont know Les Mis, shes the young girl who is a cinderella story and falls in live and whatnot)!.!.!.
any ideas!?
my backup choice is God Help the Outcasts!. it just doesnt really fit with the character!.!. its more of an Eponine songWww@QuestionHome@Com

-I Can Hear the Bells from Hairspray
-Ribbons Down my Back from Hello, Dolly
-Prologue from Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat
-Somewhere thats green from Little Shop of Horrors
-Green Finch and Linnet bird from Sweeney Todd
-Think of me and Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again both from Phantom of the Opera
-Jimmy and Gimme Gimme both from Thoroughly Modern Millie
-one of Maria's songs from West Side Story
-Some Things are Meant to be from Little Women
-Something There from Beauty and the Beast (its a duet but u could easily cut it down)

Sorry to rain on your parade, but this will help you in the long run!.

Never, ever audition with a song from Les Mis, unless the director *asks you* to sing a song from Les Mis!. Directors are sick to death of them and you'll hurt your chances immensely if you go with a song from Les Mis, Phantom, Rent, Chicago or Cats!.

If they want you to sing a song from Les Mis, that's another story--sing the one you think shows off your voice best!.

Ideally, you should choose something less well known!. If you can, choose something people haven't ever heard, or something obscure!.

You're auditioning to show off your vocal ability, not that you can do a song that fits the character you want to play!. In the best case, you should ask your choir director or voice teacher what song they suggest for you to sing!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
