The best way to get your feet wet is to do some local theater!. You'll know right away if it's for you!. also - there are most likely some aspiring filmmakers in your area!. Post a film idea on Craig's list to attract someone with a camera and shoot a no-budget movie on the weekend!. Put it on you-tube and get some feedback!. These are necessary steps in the process of becoming an actor!. Agents won't see you without some experience and/or hype around the work you do!. Basically they want to see you have commercial potential (translation: can make them money)!. If you're interested in becoming a model - you're gonna need a book (a whole bunch of high quality photographs of you in different locations, clothing, with product, conveying different emotions)!. Again there is probably an aspiring photographer in your area that could hook you up for free!. Once you have a "book" you can shop it around to local agencies!. Word to the wise - don't sign anywhere where they ask for money from you upfront!. It's a scam!.Www@QuestionHome@Com I think the first question is why do you want to be an actor/model!? Is it because your friends say you should!? If YOU really want to do it!.!.!. first learn the realities!. Modeling has height and weight requirements and is really only profitable in the larger city markets!. A good modeling agency will be able to tell you yes or no with just a snapshot!. Do not put money into pictures before consulting with them! And don't get in a hurry! Take an acting class and see if you like it enough to pursue it!. It can be wonderful and fun!.!.!. but, it's hard work!. Push yourself to become involved in your local theatre this summer and decide why you want to do it!. An agent might be interested in you if you are very photogenic and interesting looking!. There are not very many open auditions!. It is better to have an agent get you auditions!.
