Question: "Gypsy" audition!.!.!.help, please!?
So over summer vacation I'm going to do a summer camp!. At the end of the session, we're going to perform "Gypsy"!.!.!.it's actually going to be like one of their professional productions, not just a little performance at the end!. So I have been researching this musicla and so far, I really like it! This camp is for kids between the ages of 12 and 18, and let's just say I'm going to probably going to be one of the youngest ones!. I'm an alto, almost a mezzo, and I have been acting for a while now!. So, the only problem is I'm scared of my competition!. This is an actual audition process!.!.!.usually, you sing a few bars and read from the script!. I just need advice on how to nail my audition and what to do to stand out, since I'm going to be competing against much older kids!. I understand there are a few child roles in this show that are grown up by act two, but I'm not sure if they will be casting two different actors, so that might ruin my chances!. I'll get a role anyway, but I want a good one!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

My friend was nearly selected to be in the national tour of Gypsy!. During her audition, she kept it really peppy!. Luckily, the song Let Me Entertain You has no really high notes!. I can sing it easily, and I am an alto!. Make sure that you bring a lot of water to the audition!. Practice your introduction: FIRST IMPRESSIONS ARE VERY IMPORTANT!. Where something respectable and bright: NO WHITE!. You want to be remembered!. Buy the sheet music online (you can even change the key of the song on some websites) and start practicing!. Keep it calm before the audition: Listen to your favorite music to pump you up, write all your negative thoughts on a piece of paper then rip the paper up, and practice your breathing *http://cas!.umkc!.edu/casww/brethexr!.htm*

And don't forget to smile, slow down, and be prepared for a cold reading!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
