They're just trying to protect you from the possibility of rejection; but you have to let them know that this is something you want to try, or else it will end up being one of those things that you'll look back on and regret- always wondering "what if"!.
Try telling one of your parents, the one who is more supportive/least rigid, that you are interested in auditioning!. That you want to send in your headshot and at least see what happens!. That you may not even get called in to audition, but at least if you try you won't have to feel like you missed out on a chance!.
Tell them that this is something you are passionate about and that you'd like for their support and blessing!. You would hate to miss out on an opportunity because of anybody's fear!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
definitely!!!!! go for it! you never know what will come out of it! Weight is not necessarily a factor, I think its your personality, charisma and luck! how old are you!? talk to your parents and tell them you wanna try anyway and you would appreciate their support, there is no harm in that!. If you want this and have talent you can get a role, it may not be this one, so keep trying!.
