There is a contemporary film made of Romeo and Juliet directed by Baz Luhrmann!. (as someone said, the one with Claire Danes and Leonardo Dicaprio) It modernises the play but still has all original text!. (except any cuts made by the director) Watching it helped me understand Romeo and Juliet a great deal recently for a college performance of the play!. :)Www@QuestionHome@Com

Lots of recent "young adult" movies are based on his plays!. "10 things I hate about you" (not that recent) based on Taming of the Shrew, "She's the Man" based on 12th night!. There are lots of good movie versions of his plays!. Kenneth Branaugh has done a few that are very accessable!. (Hamlet, Henry V, Much Ado About!.!.!., Othello!.
