Love conquers all - how would this be elaborated!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Well, I actually don't think the theme is love conquers all, because they died!. Shakespeare intended this play to be a satire actually, so I think a more appropriatte theme would be: love is absurd, yet it is impossible to live without!. If you are writing a paper you could explore the reason behind why humans have such a strong desire for love, no matter how much trouble it gets them into!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I don't think that its as easy as "Love Conquers All", because in fact if that were the case it wouldn't be a tragedy, because both the main love interests commit suicide and other are killed in battles that could have been avoided!. The best way of looking at meaning in Shakespearean texts (usually) is to be speculative and dig as deep as you can!. Instead of saying "Its about love conquering all" you could say "Its about the family relations of Renaissance Italy, and coming of age within a society or power and greed" and then take that point and site examples!. Other plays like Hamlet for example are looked at from every possible view point (Marxism, Gender equality, new historicism etc!.) and each of them make a case and developing meaning from the text!.

that's the beauty of Shakespeare!.!.!.!.!.it can mean anything, just go looking for it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Good question!. Romeo and Juliet experience intense attraction/love that could never exist in the world they live in because their respective families are at war!. If love conquers all, how come they die at the end and never get to experience love in the physical realm!? Then again, does love conquers all refer to how the intensity of emotion can lead to irrational thinking, including suicidal gestures!? I personally don't think Romeo and Juliet conquered anything in life because they ultimately gave up their lives to be together!. Being dead together - what's so great about that!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Love is painful and tragic might be fitting

Love conquers all is just wrong as they both died!.!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
