first get comfortable with ur lines!. u dont have to kno it down to the period just know wat happens next in the scene!. second grab a mirror, friend, family member or even the family dog!. rehearse infront of them!. this gets u speaking and hearing ur mistakes so u can correct them!. before u have to go on,relax with deep breathing!. on stage, speak slowly and calmly!. pick a focus point say 3 friends in different sections of the room left middle and center!. say the lines to them insted of the entire class!. this will over come the inital shock of talking to a large group let alone act in front of them!. and last remember u are not "you"!. you are the character, happy, sad, mad, or just plain silly!. stay in that character!. its more of a mental state of mind!. once u become comfortable up there, u'll relax!. and remember have funWww@QuestionHome@Com

I had this problem like two years ago!.!.!. What I did was take a public speaking class at my school and Debate, but I also try to think of it as no big deal!. Now I am amazing at public speaking!. The classes really helped and thinking it's ne big deal!. Just relax and think everything's ok, becuase I doubt you can take a class like that in a short period of time!. lol

Did you know that the two top fears are
1!. Death
2!. Public SpeakingWww@QuestionHome@Com

What you do is you stay in character!. Eventually you totally forget the audience is there and you are the character you're playing!. The only way to practice this is to be in front of people more often!. I don't think there's a way to get that in a week!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

For the immediate project (and this works well for future work)-

1!. Practice in front of a mirror and really look at yourself!.
2!. Practice in front of friends and/or family!.
3!. Focus on what you're saying while you speak and not on the audience!.

A speech course or a debate team are also good ideas for the future!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Don't let any one tell you to picture everyone in boxers or naked that's stupid!. What you need to do is get into your character!. You need to feel, and be that person!. Add your own touch to the long speech !. If you feel strongly about what your saying then act like you care!.
As for stage fright if you're nervous , relax!.
Maybe you could try saying the speach in a different accent!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

well i had stage fright too and i was in a play!. so what i did was after school alone or with a best friend go to the stage and sing a song while your best friend is in the audiencesWww@QuestionHome@Com

How does one perform an entire play alone!? to combat stage fright!. 1, be very very well prepared, 2!. concentrate on doing the play, not the audience, 3!. Hypnosis!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

just envision that the audience isnt even there!. Pretend like there is a wall between you and your audience!. It worked for me and I am a big ole chicken =-)
Concentration is key!.!.!.and honestly that will weiver just focus and breathe!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I have stage fright too!. I try not to focus on the people in the audience but the ones that are acting!. I also take deep breaths to calm myself!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I found that my stage fright went away after doing some
solo singing!. So I would suggest doing some karaoke
for practice!. No karaoke competitions, though!.
Karaoke is just for fun, and sometimes
the group likes the bad singers who get up there and
have a good time better than the deadly serious
good singers!.

The other thing that I found causing my stage fright was
reading prepared speeches!. My public speaking was better
when I was just talking to the group!.

So, if there is some way that you could hang out with a
group of your friends, and talk to them as a group, tell
them stories or something out of your life, then I think that would be
better!. You aren't really "putting on a performance"
in that setting!. It isn't the stage or the group that is causing
the fright, but the feeling that people are expecting
from you and you are afraid of screwing up!.

Hang in there!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
