Question: Can I have a tattoo and be an actor!?

Ok so, I wanted to get a tattoo on my back (in the center right bellow my bra line- the very middle of my back), but I want to try acting professionally (tv film)!. I have a very girl next door look, and I will never do any nude scenes!. Do you think having a tattoo there will limit me!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

There are a lot of actors and actresses with tattoos!. But the question is did they get them before they were already famous enough for their fame to carry them through!? You must have your doubts or you wouldn't ask the question you did!. I say don't do anything that could jeopordize your chance at success!. Even if it only creates doubt in your mind, it might be that little piece of self confidence you need to have to make it!. So wait until your career is established and then get one if you still want it!. It's not like you only can get it done today or tomorrow!. Such a tattoo is called a "tramp stamp" so if you want to be known as a tramp, go aheard!. Most people are secure enough that they do not have to try to improve themselves by getting a tattoo!. I disagree with you answerer and say an actor should not have tattoos!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Having a tattoo will never be an issue for you as an actor!. Many actors have them!. If you were to get offered a role where your character wouldn't have any tattoos, the makeup department can cover it up easy as pie!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
