Firstly!. Only do this, if you are passionate about it and really want to do!. Because one thing that sticks out to judges, is if you don't feel comfortable or don't want to do it!.

You should smile and greet the people judging you when you enter the room!.
When doing your audition look straight ahead and make eye contact (Do not look down!)

Try and memorize your audition as best as possible!.

For your audition, go with a poem that you can add feeling to, something short but shows enough for the judges to judge you on!.
Shakespeare is always good, because it shows you can interpret difficult texts!.

also try and say different lines in different tones (questioning anger, sadness !.!.!.)!. This is a good thing to practice because in the audition the judges may ask you to change the way you say it to their preference!.

Move around when you are talking, nobody likes watching a stiff actor!. Movement on stage is much more natural looking!.

If you want to see some actors!. Turn on your T!.V and switch it to mute!. Now you can watch actors facial expressions and their movement, hand gestures etc!.

if you are doing a cold reading, be prepared to read anything and have a good emotion for any character given!.
Try not to look to nervous because if you do they might think that you will get nervous at the show premiere!.
If you have an audition scene, go over it and make sure that you are taking proper breaks and what you motivation is and why your character is doing what its doing!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Im not someone who really auditions for plays or anything!. But I do love the spot light & I have auditioned before for stuff!. Anyways, it depends what type of part you want to be!. If its the main character, really make a point to stand out, in a good way!. And ofcourse practice, say it infront of people and learn from them and improve !.If its just any other character, go over your part and practice! Say it infront of a couple of people and gradually infront of more and more people!. Threwout the way they will give you good chritisism and learn from it and improve!.
