Question: Was Romeo on drugs!?

I was just watching Romeo+Juliet (the one with Leo DiCaprio) and it was at the part when the romeo is arriving at the capulets party!. he seems really drugged and then he says "thy drugs are quick" so i was just wondering if he was stoned then!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Probably for the purposes of the movie he was supposed to be!. Didn't Mercutio give him something before they went to the party!? Baz Luhrman seems to have a facination with Absenthe, so maybe THAT was it!.

However, the ACTUAL line "Thy drugs are quick!." comes at the end of the original text of the play when Romeo drinks poison in the tomb after finding Juliet is "dead"!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
