Question: Props for my MS play!?
Hi, I'm the official prop manager of my MS (middle school) play!.That means it's pretty much up to me to provide all of the props!.

Does anybody have any ideas about where I could find/how I could make a large strip of fishing net covered in jingle bells!. It's to drape around a person like a toga so they jingle when they walk, and it has to be a fishing net for the sake of their costume!.
also, I need to make a few documents look old, so how do I make them brown and crumbled like they're ancient!?
Finally, where can I buy fake food!? I see it all over the place, but I've never actually seen it sold in stores!.

Ty in advance for your help!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

To make documents look old, brew a cup of tea with the tea bag in it!. Take the tea bag and rub it on the document until it is stained!. You want to do it this way and not dip the document in tea because rubbing it will help get variation in the coloring!. Dipping it will make it a uniform color, which is wrong for aging!. Leave it out in the sun to dry, preferably on a dark surface so it dries quickly!. It will warp and wrinkle as it dries!. If the documents are supposed to be really old then consider drying them with a hair dryer!.!.!. that'll make it wrinkle more, especially on the edges!. also, as it's drying (but not dry yet) sprinkle a few drops of tea on the paper to make age spots!. DO NOT BURN OR TEAR THE EDGES - that looks cheesy!.

For fake bread use real and shellac it!. There are sources online for fake meet!. Joke shops are a good place to start!. If you're looking for something like a cut of steak or even a chicken leg you can buy really bad fakes and then take a mixture of high gloss polyeurthane (water based) and either a greyish brown paint (for steak) or a yellow-brown (for chicken) and paint a few layers onto the fake!. There should be very little pigment in the glaze: you want the base to show through!. The glaze just gives richness to the color and makes it look moist, like a juicy piece of meat!.

Fishing net covered in bells!. Sorry, your best bet is to get a piece of fishing net (online, marine supply!.!.!. it's pretty cheap) and some really cheap silver bells (also online, try holiday supply stores, party stores and Oriental Trading Company)!. Then, sew them on, one by one!. Before you sew them on, pick a color - you don't want the fishing net to be white because it will look really bright on stage!. You could make a mixture of 10 parts water to 1 part brown paint and 1 part yellow paint!. Dip the net in that and it'll look a little aged!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
