Position:Home>Theater & Acting> I'd like to be an actress but....?Question: I'd like to be an actress but!.!.!.!.!? ok so my dream job is to act!.!.!.but my problem is i have doubts tht ill waste 10yrs of my life and find out it never works out!.!.!.!.!.so like does anyone have any advice on what i should do!!? i hvnt tried out for any plays but im planning on it sophmore year!.!.!.!.but does anyone have any other ideas on how i can get more experience!?!?!? any advice!?Www@QuestionHome@Com
Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Do not doubt yourself, but rather, believe in yourself!. You're going to need as much experience as you can get!. Go to your local theatre and see if there are any good audition opprotunities for your age group/ amount of experience!. Keep doing plays and then you will have lots of theatre experience and an extensive resume' which is impressive and a way that directors would know whether or not to cast you!. Take dance classes so that you have all of the footwork down!.!.!. take dance in different areas such as jazz, tap, hip hop and ballet so that you have a plethora of different dance styles on your plate!. For singing experience I would suggest investing in a voice coach to work on good singing techniques, vocals and song choice to suit your voice which will be important in auditions!. Join choir at your school so that you have been introduced to a wide variety of songs and can sing many different things!. Take improvisation classes at your theatre and practice even in front of a mirror!. Practice your facial expressions and your tone and voice!. During your summer make sure to take all of your time for granted and see if your local theatre offers any summer camps which can be good for singing, dance, and theatre experience!. Try out for the school plays knowing that even if you don't get in you will be changed by the experience!.
