Question:ok, im auditioning for the wizard of oz at my community theatre in about 2 weeks. I realy want dorothy but I am pretty sure the directors daughter will get it. I am 14 years old, are there any other parts i can try to get other than chorus?

Yeah, it sucks to be the one who wants the role that the director's family member is pegged to get. Just do your best, and try to blow them away. Practice, practice, practice. If you don't get Dorothy, you may get Glinda or the Wicked Witch, and possibly the Lion depending on whether or not this theater troupe wants to cast the Lion as a boy or girl. Other than that, if you are good at dancing you may get lead dancer if it is a musical. And, sadly, you may get put in chorous. But don't be discouraged! Being turned down only makes us stronger.

unfortunately, other than dorathy, i wouldn't count on you getting a big role. maybe glinda or the wicked witch of the west if your really good. i wish you luck!

The thing to remember about theater is that there is room for interpretation. If your positive you won't get Dorthy and you don't want any of the other typically female parts, try out for something else. The Lion, Tin man, and Scarecrow don't have to be played by men. Break a leg!!
