Well I'm from NJ and have a NY accent.

Speak loud and try to sound a bit obnoxious. Try to talk like people from The Sopranos if you've seen it.

I say:
tawk - talk
fawt, bawt, brawt, tawt - fought, bought, brought, taught
sista, brotha, motha, fatha - sister, brother, mother, father
Sorry I can't help more, try Youtube. Good luck!

there are many different accent like italian new york or jewish new york or irish new york, then there are different areas like brooklyn or the bronx. which one are you talking about

You could also watch television shows that take place in New York and repeat the lines. Repeating the radio announcer is how my mother learned to speak with a local accent when she relocated in the 1950's, so that approach can work in a general manner.

However, since your interest is professional and you will have to convince audience members who know the accent, I strongly recommend learning from a real person and maybe more, because people from the same region do not always speak precisely the same way, and you want to be authentic without relying on stereotypes.

Throw you voice up so its more nasal, add w's inplace of L's you'll know if its right or not.
