Position:Home>Theater & Acting> Is Bonnie Gillespie a scam?

Question:She has been in here answering questions, she claims to be some big casting director and brags about writing at Showfax. I looked her up at both IMDb and CSA (Casting Society of America). She has only done a few unknown independent movies. And she is not even a member of Casting Society of America.

So what makes her such an expert? And who would want to buy HER books lmfao!

I personally would never buy a book from someone who claims to be a casting director but is not a member of the Casting Society of America.

Oh, you're all so cute! Thank you for adding to my Google cred. ;) LOL

Yes, sorry, I have "been in here answering questions." Didn't realize I had to reach some specific level of expertise in order to share my experiences.

I don't recall ever "claiming to be some big casting director," as you've said. I've said I've been a CD for just over five years, which is true. That puts me pretty much at the beginning of my game, as any actor who has been earning a living at acting for five years--without yet being a "name"--would have to say as well.

I don't "brag about writing at Showfax." It's one of my many jobs. And I list it, in my "sources" in case anyone would like to check my credentials. I--like most people in this industry--have to hustle every day to try and make a living, pursuing my dreams. I am very grateful that the good folks at Showfax have paid me for the past four years to write something up every week for the 50,000 readers per week who deem it worth looking into.

Doesn't matter how many clicks there are--so I'm not advertising here. I get the same pay whether ONE or ONE MILLION read it, so I'm not here to promote a damn thing. I've just been trying to help. Believe me. Lesson learned. Yahoo! Answers is not the friendly place to come share my thoughts and opinions. Got it. Thanks. :) You've schooled me good. :)

My endeavor to become a member of CSA is well-chronicled at both my Showfax column and my personal blog. It was very heartbreaking when I didn't get accepted a few years ago when I applied. Perhaps there are actors reading who wanted to be members of SAG and who couldn't get in. Maybe you understand? Doesn't matter. Whatevz. There are PLENTY of casting directors who are not members of the CSA and they have mentored me through this difficult period during which I have not been welcomed to the fold.

Happily, I have still been able to cast 475 actors in PAID, union roles... and I hope they are happy to have had the opportunity. Certainly, I have been happy to have had the opportunity to cast them. I know some of them will be household names before too long. Maybe someday, some of you who read these pages will be too. *fingers crossed*

Buy my books, don't buy my books. Believe me, it doesn't matter. I came in here to try and share some advice and apparently I picked the wrong topic on which to share an opinion and now I am on everyone's flame list. :)

Great! Have fun. Thanks for driving up my StarMeter on IMDB. And thanks for reminding me why it's the "real world" I like a lot better than online encounters, anyway.

I have never heard of her but if you come across her and she ask for money, shes a scammer
