Question:A friend of mine wants to apply for a company that does voice dubbing for tv and commercials. The company asked for a demo tape to be submitted. What do you put in the demo tape?

The CD should be no longer than 90 seconds.
Have 5-8 separate reads.
The first piece should be natural voice (perhaps just introducing yourself, or reading a story).
Don't use accents or impersonations unless you do them very, very well.

The pieces should include ad copy (commercials) and narration. You can get your copy from the TV/radio done by someone with a voice similar to yours.
For narration, use magazine articles or how-to manuals (good if you want to do industrials).

Don't "act." Don't use an "announcer" voice; companies are looking for natural-sounding voices.
