No, you do not have to wait until you are out of school BUT you will have to wait until you are out of school for the day unless your parent is taking you to the audition and even then, you can't miss too many days of school to begin with. Most community plays have auditions and practices that are after school and on weekends.
Open auditions are posted in the trade magazines.
To audition you need to have a scene prepared and if you sing, a song.
Th get an agent you either mail in your resume or do a cold call in an attempt ot get an appointment.
An agent is a person who has contacts in the acting world and will try to schedule you auditions. Also, he/she will help you by looking over contracts (but if it's a big one you may want an attorney).
The reason you see actors or actresses that are young is that 1. Shows and plays are written for people that age.
2. Their parents help them. They take them to auditions, get them an agent, etc. If your parents won't help you, well, there is not much you can do.

If you truly want to pursue an acting career, it's going to take a lot of hard work. (believe me, I know...). Since you are 13, you should take every opportunity to develop certain skills that will help you in your career: learn a different language, dance, learn horseback riding, etc. Also, get involved in community theatre or school plays.

Acting takes a lot of time and perseverance. You can't expect to go to one audition and come out with a leading lady role in the highest grossing film ever. (although, that would be nice, right? ha!)

To look for auditions, check your local newspaper or online sources. One that I continually go to is backstage.com. I'm sure they have some listings for England too.

Best of luck to you!!!

Well, If you get really into acting. You Wouldnt have to leave school but, be Homeschooled.

(sorry I am in a hurry so i only answered the 1st question)

Keeping it short, no.

You can be in productions from birth and act as soon as you have an understanding of life ( which you normally have by about 4 - 5 ) but as your understanding gets better you'll be able to act better.

If you want a career in acting you probably could get a part if you were good but unless you know a good amount about acting and acting theory, which can only be attained by acting/ performing in front of an audience or with other actors, you will not keep it up for long because your foundation is not strong enough.

Like if a building was wider higher up than at its base.

That's why you should get qualifications such as lamda or post grad ( so on ) to an acting school first

but as long as you have enough time for the audition and you are available for a callback then you can audition.
