Position:Home>Theater & Acting> I'm so freaked out about my audition tomorrow!?

Question:My agent has put me foward for a musical audition, it's a small supporting role. I need to sing two songs, as well as perform four short scenes. The scenes I'm fine with, but although I can hold a note I'm not a proffesional singer! I fear I'm just going to go in and fall flat on my face. It feels as if it's going to be more ego-bruising than anything else.

Anyone been in this situation?

So you fall flat on your face, boom down you go on the floor, if that's the worse that can happen oh well, smile and laugh, you got to remember that not every performer is going to be the one that the directors want, so always look at auditions as a way to perfect yourself for the day that perfect part for you comes along. When we go for auditions if there is some part that we are weeker in than others that is the part that we just shrug our shoulders and think i know that i'm going to bomb this part so i think i'm going to have fun with it, low and behold those are the times we either get the call back or we get the most positive feed back. When you get to that part where you don't care weither you get the part or not and you are haveing fun doing the audition, thats when it clicks and you go away feeling really good because you just got to spend five to ten minutes doing something you want. I wish you the best and if you get the part or not keep up on your agent to keep getting you auditions, the more exposure you get the more chances you have of being some ones cup of tea! GL! HTH!

Well....I have at school for solos and plays.....and my crush was RIGHT THERE!!! AHHH! But.....in the upcoming weeks, I am doing a general Disney Audition and I am FREAKED OUT! and we only need to sing 16 bars....so...I know what it feels like....just tell your self you can do it. Remember, you are your own worst critic! And also, just go out there and have fun!!!

How and where can we find Agents, how does it work..?

yes same exact situation just last year.
when ur singing loo over the audience
or judges. never look at them.

I'm a frequent actor and I've been in your shoes many times. I'm definitely not a professional singer and I'm always nervous about singing auditions, but it's really not that bad once you're up there. Just ignore it and don't dwell on the negative, tell yourself when you're performing that no one's watching you. Pretend they're looking away from you and imagine you're trying to get their attention. I've known many kids with not only poor voices but no confidence passing musical auditions. Try not to worry too much and good luck :)
