Question:I really want to be an actor

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: I really want to be an actor

Do you want to act, or do you want to be paid to act?

This is a crucially important distinction.

You can be paid to act if you want to act.

You can never act if you only want to act for pay. You can, however, still get paid. That's ShowBiz.

My unsolicited advice: Act first. If you are good enough, do not worry about the money. It will come.

Well, u have to audition for parts most of the time. Sometimes your in the backround. If you are a non-union member or not part of the SAG (Screen Actors Guild) you don't get paid as much as the union members. If you are one you get much more bonus money from that. You get famous overtime and you get rich. Hint: You get paid weeks or a month later so don't just think you are going to get paid right on the dot. You have to fill out a form in order to get paid. But mostly, it is good becoming an actor for the money and to get more experience so you can put it on your resume so other directors notice your good and you get the parts of a movie/commercial/print/theater/etc.
