Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: does anyone lovee wicked.. .if so what part (do u know if its going to be a movie??)

I LOVE WICKED!!!! I think that No Good Deed is my favorite, because it is completely unique to the play. Every play has the "I want that" song (The Wizard and I) and many of the other songs are about each character's personal views on the world (Popular, Dancing Through LIfe, and Wonderful) No Good Deed has an amazing score, vocals, and message. I adore the entire play though, and my second favorite would have to be the Defying Gravity scene. =D

I adore Wicked. Gotta say that the "I'm Not That Girl" part is my favorite, but the whole thing was amazing. Not sure on the movie thing.

I'm seeing it in Chicago In 2 WEEKS!
is it good?

:]

I love the show and the book! My favorite part is As Long As You're Mine, when Elphie and Fiyero hook up. It's inevitable that it's going to be a movie someday. Not this year or the next but some day it will be a movie.

My god...THis is my favorite musical I've ever seen live. I absolutely love the whole soundtrack, especially Dr. Dillamond. I think Dancing Through LIfe is my favorite song, with the harmonies and Fiyero being shallow and happy xD
I don't think Wicked will be a movie anytime soon, b/c the producers of the show will want to squeeze as much money out of the Broadway Productions as possible before starting a film. I'm sure it will be very well received, look at Hairspray!

I have seen many, many B'way shows in my time and I write musicals (book & lyrics) and I can honestly say that I don't get Wicked at all! I bought the cd and loaned it out. It's not been returned and I haven't missed it. Schwartz did so much better with his score to Pippin and the Baker's Wife than bad puns about good, evil and being short!
The storyline and -especially- the message make no sense to me! If people perceive you as wicked that's what you should aspire to be?? What if people perceived her as stupid? Should she just throw up her hands and say, fine I'll be the MOST stupid then! Please!
Without the darkness of the book, which was never meant to be a morality tale, the story just doesn't work.
It appeals to misfit high school girls who want to believe that their misfit-ness makes them special.
If it's made into a movie, the original cast will be way too old to play high school students. Most likely, Ashley Tisdale will play Glenda and Miley Cirus will play Elfaba.

I absolutly LOVE Wicked. Its one of my favorite musicals ever. My favorite part is Popular because that is my fave song. ^_^

I heard that it is going to be made into a movie in like 2009 or something like that. I hope they use the Original Cast.

i've never seen wicked but i hear it was ahmazing:] i luv the song "defying gravity" from it though

I really like Wicked. It's not my favorite musical, but I can't turn down anything Idina Menzel.

My favorite song has to be "The Wizard and I." And I kinda hope it's not a movie, because very rarely movies can compare to the Broadway score, but it probably will be since it's so "Popular." (Yay for bad puns. ^^)

I lvoe wicked soooo much! I havn't seen in (I am only 13!) but I am a huge fanzel (Idina Menzel fan) and I love the songs,
No Good Deed
As long as your mine (when Taye sings it even tho he is off key!)
Dancing through life
and
Defying Gravity!
I am praying it turns into a movie with origonally broadway cast please!!!!!! I Love chenzel! (Kristin and Idina)

I LOVE WICKED! *Galinda-like squeal*

Okay...I'm calm now...well, as calm as I can be when listening to Defying Gravity!

Currently, the only plans for the movie so far are for it to open/start filming in 2014, ten years after it opened on Broadway.

No one has been cast as any part.

Will Smith is not playing the Lion and Dakota Fanning is not playing Dorothy.

The movie will be based on the musical and the Lion and Dorothy are never shown, so no actors are needed for those characters.

From interviews with Gregory Maguire, the author of Wicked, the basis for the musical:
Interview#1:
Q: What was your reaction when they first talked to you about your novel Wicked! being made into a musical? Has anyone ever asked you about it being made into a film?

GM~Within 10 days of the book's publication in the US, I started to get film offers. I had three and a half years' worth of film scripts, each one of which was worse than the one before!

When that interest began to erode (Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings hadn't come out yet) and the notion of a Broadway play came up instead, really in my heart of hearts I just thought [*singing and leaping from his chair*] 'Broadway!'. What was not to love about it?

There will eventually be a film of Wicked! the musical but probably not for four or five years.

Interview#2:
According to Maguire, there are plans to bring out a film version of “Wicked” in the year 2014. “That’s the 10-year anniversary of its Broadway debut,” he said, “which is exactly what happened when the play ‘Chicago’ came out as a film a few years ago. Since ‘Wicked’ is breaking attendance records all over the world, there’s no need to rush a film out now.”

my favorite part is popular!!!
ohh yea!

it was originally suppose to be a movie but they made a musical instead
and i think it should stay as a musical to tell ya the truth
