What should my acting plan be?

Question:I'm a Freshman in High School and I want to work as an actor. I'm thinking about getting engineering credits in college, but I would much rather work as an actor. Should I move to NY or Hollywood immediately after High School? Should I get the engineering credits anyway, as a backup? Give me your thoughts.

If you want to act, especially in New York, you need to either go to a college in the city, or a program that has good industry prep (like CAP21), or a program that has a big, supportive alumni presence (like Northwestern). Otherwise, showing up in the city not knowing about how the industry works is going to set you back a few years.
